When I go to my applications screens/list, the background used to be pitch black. Now the background is dark transparent and I can actually see my home screen wallpaper in the background, though it is dark. What happened to the black background in the applications screens? Is there any way to change the background in the applications screens? Thanks!

I think it depends on your wallpaper. If you've had a dark or black wallpaper, the semi opaque behind the app drawer looks black. If you've changed to a colorful or bright wallpaper, the background shows through.
