Help Apps are greyed out

Hi friends,

All apps on my Samsung tablet are suddenly greyed out and not usable. When I try to open them I get this message: "Cannot open this app. You do not have permission to perform this action." The tablet is company owned, has a Device Policy installed and only has 1 Google account configured.

Can someone please help me?

Have you tried restarting (NOT resetting) the device?

Yes, I already have restarted the device. The icons were still greyed out.

I've logged into the Google account while settings up the tablet for first use a few months ago.

Are these apps installed to internal storage or moved to an sd card? If they are on a card then a problem with the card may produce this result.

That is not possible, since the device is company owned.

The apps are installed on the internal storage. There is no SD card installed.

Surely you can log out of Google.

Be sure that you have the credentials to get back in.

Probably your best bet is to bring it back to work for a superior to mess with.

It was also not possible to open any app via the app drawer. The only apps that worked were Settings and Play Store. Eventually the IT department resetted the device and of course everything is working again.
