apps automatically downloading to ph?

Hi there, I recently bought myself a motorola defy +. It keeps downloading random apps and putting them on my homescreen. I can delete them but it's kinda getting annoying. It seems to only do it when the ph looks for updates. I've tried resetting the ph but it starting doing again. Any clues? Much appreciated.

I think those aren't apps on your home screen, they are shortcuts to web sites. It is aggressive advertising, known as AirPush and similar.

The app which had created that mess might be still on your phone ... recently installed or updated.
To find that culprit app install an AirPush detector like
Lookout Ad Network Detector
