Apps I deleted return :(

Hey Guys,

First post here. I just got a droid dna a few days ago, and just finished rooting it. I proceeded to use root uninstaller to get rid of the bloatware (e.g. amazon), and to my suprise after I uninstall it. It returns after I restart my phone. What could be causing this?

Thank you for your input.

You uninstalled the updates instead of the app itself? I always used ROM Toolbox Pro for bloatware uninstalls personally

That is odd. Seems the Stock ROM is able to reinstall what normally comes with it from an apk hidden away somewhere like a Play Store update

There's nothing hidden away on these phones. More likely that tool is unable to properly uninstall the apps. My guess is that the phone is S-On - write security is still enabled on the /system partition - and the tool isn't actually removing the apk. The app is disabled, but when you reboot it's reinstalled.

If you boot into recovery you should be able to uninstall them using adb. But what I'd recommend is asking here: DROID DNA - All Things Root - Android Forums
