Apps keep disappearing

[Android Question]

Hello, I have a Galaxy S4 and recently i have had issues. I have folders on my homepage named games, messaging... stuff like that and i have shortcuts inside for each folder. Well for some reason when i click on the folders they appear to be empty even though they show icons on the folder itself. I check in the app drawer and they seem to be missing from there as well. I did several restarts which only fixed the problem temporarily after which it would happen again. I have cleared the cache and still no avail. I even went to as far to reseting my phone and still after a few hours the problem consist. I really dont know why this is happening.

Phone: Galaxy S4
Carrier: T- Mobile
Android version: 4.3

If you have a shortcut to an app that's not there (that's what you said - the app isn't in the app drawer), the shortcut icon will disappear. The problem isn't your shortcut icons disappearing, it's why your apps are disappearing. And that could be due to the 4.3 update. (At this point, I wouldn't rule out anything as being caused by that update. There are just too many bugs to keep track of.)
