Help Apps not installed, but are still on app list

Does anyone know how to uninstall an app that my phone says is not installed, but won't let me open or uninstall it. The icons are in my apps but are greyed out with the sd symbol over them. If I click on it, it says can't find app. If I go to uninstall it it tells me it's not on my list of installed apps. So I can't open it or uninstall it to redownload it. I really really don't want to have to factory reset my phone, if possible.

I've tried that several times, it doesn't do anything. I've had this phone for almost 8 months and this just started when I turned my phone and then turned it back on.

by chance did the sd card get removed? It sounds like the apps got moved to sd card and your phone isn't acknowledging the card if it's still there.

The apps that are there but not there were stored on the sd card. They've been on it for 8 months or more, I've never had any problems before. I powered down the phone and when I turned it on the morning and nothing

I still can't uninstall or view app. They're still greyed out & when you try to open them it tells me app not found, I try to uninstall it & it tells me there is s different version installed that's not compatible with this version, whatever the hell that means. I can't uninstall because it's not on my "list of downloaded app". Its extremely frustrating, but I want to try & avoid resetting to the factory install.

Goto the play store - my apps and games - library; see if you can delete an app, it should cut the links between the store and your phone. BEWARE; try it on a free app first, I believe it deletes proof of purchase cookies so you may need to pay for some apps again.
