Apps on the SD Card

Since I got the SD card to function, I get notifications to move the app the to the SD card,

Since that also charges the Nexus 7, would there be harm in moving some of these apps that I do not use that much?

I also use SBP Shell and sometimes I run out or memory. They sent me a app to run but it dumps it to the SD Card. I am pretty sure that I can get it to error on me before it needs recharging. Or does anyone else run into this issue?

Thank you!

I guess I don't quite understand your question. What SD card to function are you talking about. The N7 has no real SD card, only a virtual one in its internal storage as a separate partition. What app wants to move to the SD card? Are you talking about an SD card connected by OTG? If you use SPB shell, I am not surprised that you run out of memory. Memory and storage are two different things, though. Do you have an 8, 16, or 32 Gb unit? AFAIK they all have the same amount of memory--just different storage capacities. I would think that what you would want on OTG SD card would be things like music, photos, movies--stuff like that. While it may be possible to move some apps there it would be very cumbersome and inconvenient. If you have apps that you don't use often, just disable them and clear their data and caches.

Corey, sounds like the tablet you bought is too small. I'd sell it and get one big enough and dump OTG.

I have the 16G. I have most apps not running t I found it odd that once I set up the OTG, I got the option to move the app to SD card when it was installed, but that was it.

When SPB Shell is running, I saw an error that said something like Linux kernel has too many apps running at the same time. But if I use the default launcher, I never have that issue.

I like the SPB Shell since I can place my apps in panels / folders - organized rather than just in alphabetical order

I'd ditch SPB and install something like Apps Organizer or Folder Organizer from the market. I've been using that to organize my Alps in folders since Donut. Fabio does great work. SPB is just a resource pig. If you *really* want to keep it, you could try installing CyanogenMod 10 and lowering the background process limit in the developer preferences.

Also you can rearrange the apps order in regular folders in the stock launcher now. Just tap and hold it to drag to where you want it. The other icons will move out of the way.
