Apps that steal data

Yea I had read that but only today before I posted this new message but downloads were done the day I got the phone. Just wounded if anyone knows if the above may have been dangerous and if so would getting a new sim and number be a good idea or would this make no difference?

When in doubt download lookout antivirus. There arn't many android viruses but lookout or any other antivirus should protect you.
Your more scared then you need to be but thats good. Just keep questioning and if you dont trust an app theres probably 5 more that do the same thing.

No virus, no av needed.
None of the market apps are dangerous.
If you download tetris and it asks for your contact list, get suspicious.

Pirates and Traders - MicaByte

DopeWars - Joseph Daverin

Tiger Genesis/MD game Emulator - Tiger King

VoiceMessage (Ad Supported) XenionSH

Light Tetris - H.C. Leao

Age Of Wind 2 Demo - Galapagos

Wiimote controller - C.C.P. Cre@ions

Check permissions prior to installation of each app, as well as market comments and amount of downloads. A smart and well informed user is the best protection for your phone, if the permissions do not seem to fit the intended purpose of the app then do not install it. I know Pirates and Traders, the tiger emulator, and the wiimote controller should be fine.

Permissions for VoiceMessage (Ad Supported) looks fine for the purpose of the app.

Dopewars looks clean as well just requests internet access.

Light Tetris looks fine as well. Coarse network locaton is usually used for ads. There are lots of better tetris apps out there however.

Age of Wind 2 looks fine as well.

There have been instances of bad apps getting on the market but they usually are pretty easy to spot, if you do download one I would suggest you uninstall it and maybe do a factory reset. You can not get a new MEID unless you get a new phone.

If you downloaded those apps from the market, dont worry, those are all popular apps and you wont have a problem with them. If you downloaded them from somewhere else, you may want to worry. However, if you uninstalled them, your problem will go away. Also, if you really want to be safe, do a factory reset.

Thanks for all your replies people especially Yeahha, I feel a little more relaxed now and yes they was and only ever will be from the android market, i'll stick to the ones with good stars and loads of downloads.
