APPS to simulate pager and beeper?

Hello Everyone,

I am looking for an app which when receiving an SMS will act like a beeper or pager and make a repetitive sound or prolonged sound .

I am a physician and I have installed a VOIP in my office which will send me both a text message and an email if the matter is urgent . However, if I happen to miss the single notification sound of an incoming message, I could miss an urgent situation. Moreover , if I am sleeping , I would like a notification sound which would wake me up . I would also like it to call back periodically until I someone how acknowledge that I got the message. Maybe I would be required to press a "dismiss button' or else the notification tone would continue to repeat. Finally, I would like the app to specifically recognize the source of the sms , ie my VOIP system , so that every sms I receive does set off the urgency notification sound .

I have looked I the App store under pages and beepers but it is unclear to me if the apps I looked at have this capability . Does anyone know if such an app exists?

Thanks for the fast response . Ill check out Light Flow , the reviews are not very positive however.

I am using a Galaxy Note 2.

I know it had problems on the US galaxy s3 variants at first so maybe theres problems with the note2?

Nah man. LED control is just one part of it. You can change sound and vibrate pattern per app too :beer:

As Funkylogik has mentioned LightFlow can be fantastic. Count me in as someone who is a big fan.

For what you want to do, try the free version first. It is a full-version and not a timed trial. You can use it forever if it suits your needs. The paid version gives slightly more functionality and allows you to use it with a wider variety of apps.

From reading your post, I think all you need to do is make sure your service contacting you is a contact in your Contacts. Then in LightFlow select the contact to create unique notifications for when they call or text. Then you can give them a unique set of alerts. LED hardware permitting (I think all Samsung can do a wide variety of colors): When your service calls or texts, you can have a red LED light that blinks very fast, an intermittent vibration at an interval you set and an audio alert that beeps every few seconds or minutes until the message is cleared. It is completely up to you, the color and the intervals. Meanwhile, all other calls or texts could be white with slower blinking and audio reminders that are less frequent or even not at all.

However, it doesn't have the ability to repeat sounds/vibration, just camera flash LED strobing.

What phone do you have? On the S3 and newer Samsung phones there is an option to activate repetitive alerts. You can also use a third party SMS app like handcent which has this feature.
