apps wont download over just wifi, and no service

So, at my work, its a complete deadzone.. there's only wifi. My co-workers with iphones and blackberries have no problem downloading apps, mine just sits there and says "starting download".. why?

tcp port 5228 has to be opened in the router. otherwise, it won't work over wifi.
