Apps you'd recommend?

MoodyBlues

Compassion is cool!
When Android was new, I was like a kid in a candy shop, buying apps left and right. :D

As I've moved from one device to another, certain apps have followed me, while others fell by the wayside.

Now when I browse the Play Store, trying to find something to buy, I come up empty.

So I'm looking for recommendations! What are your go-to apps? What can't you get by without? Which app(s) do you love telling people about?

I don't know what I want, so all genres are welcome, but I don't want any "shoot 'em up" games.

Please provide links to apps' Play Store pages if at all possible.

Kindly note that I don't do ads, so free apps are only welcome if, like the Candy Crush games, they have in-app purchases in lieu of ads.

Looking forward to hearing about your favorite apps!

I've been trialling the Firefox Preview browser recently (formerly Fenix). Built-in anti-tracking, much faster than standard Firefox for Android, interesting UI. Some quirks, e.g. I've fed back to them that bookmarks are buried too deep (I'm sure they expect you to use their new "collections" instead, but if you can sync bookmarks they should be easier to access), but overall not a bad attempt at providing a browser with some of Firefox Focus's merits but more usable as a general purpose browser - with a littie more development it might even allow me to thin out my collection of browsers a bit ;).

(There are several categories of app I have multiple examples of, because no one app does everything I want).

Thanks for the great input so far!

Bonus points for those who included links. ;)

BTW, the reason I asked for links is because many apps have the same name as others. I don't know why it didn't dawn on Google to require unique names way back when, but they didn't, and it leads to a lot of confusion.

Well there is a cartoon "horror" type game, been tinkering around, its called Rusty Lake, it is mostly a puzzle game set to classical music. You can find the soundtrack on youtube, like I mentioned to everyone like a rabbid dog on here. Heh. rustylake.com if you really want to see the walk through, to get your mind into a lot of deep story line, basically an ex cop turn into a lake owner.
Tried to solve a case, but end up fixing himself up in the end.

Still it takes a lot of time to get into it, a seriously long time, and you do not have to return and do whatever, saves your progress no matter what..

I really love that type of game! The more immersive, the better.

I went to Rusty Lake's site and saw several games that looked good. I'll have to give this some thought...

Been photographing throughout Line photo app, it does great, but only saves like a minute video though, but the quality is surperb, I did try it a lot of photos when I was on my vacation - the only downsize it chews up the battery. :\

Thanks, but I only use my phone for unimportant photos. For 'real' photos, I use my Nikon DSLR cameras.
