Get over yourself.
Yea apple did, the Iphone revolutionized the phone industry, so i think most products that are in clear competition with them (g1) should obviously be compared to them. And im aware of the fact that apple only lets in the best apps, but still we maybe have 10-15 rele good apps, the rest is copy cat bull shit. I love the idea of OHA and an open market for any developer, but if i were a developer why would u want to creat something that has already been created AKA 10 million flashlight and note apps. The apple app store hasnt been doing this for that long, since june 08. Its not like they've had an app store for 2 years. I've herd the sdk is tough to work with, with android and that understandable. Im just saying that its fair to say that as a consumer i'm a little bit disappointed with the quality of apps that come through the market, i would be fine if it was 1 good app to 10 bad ones, but its not its more like 30-1. So maybe im calling out the devs in saying that, a little bit more creativity would be great, try and show us something we've never seen before and if its good charge 5.00 for it and make urself a couple hundred thousand dollars. If money cant motivate you to try and do something creative, then i dont know what will...
First, apple may or may not have revolutionized the AMERICAN phone scene, internationally, though, iPhone isn't so hot. Japan really didn't warm up to it, but most of their tech is 5-10 years ahead of us.Yea apple did, the Iphone revolutionized the phone industry, so i think most products that are in clear competition with them (g1) should obviously be compared to them.
sidenote, isn't there a youtube video that showcases like 50+ fart apps from the iPhone market? And im aware of the fact that apple only lets in the best apps,
Well first of all, I can name more than 10 good apps: Locale, Task Switcher, Useful Switchers, Anycut, App Manager, Bar Control, Bookmarker, Draw, Find My Friends, Meebo, MyBackup, Nightwatch, PhoneFlix, Quick Calendar, Quickpedia, RemoteDroid, Ringo Lite, Shazam, ShopSavvy, Sky Map, Chomp SMS, SnapPhoto, Statusinator, Twidroid, Txtract and Weatherbug.but still we maybe have 10-15 rele good apps, the rest is copy cat bull shit. Thank you for your post, but seriously....you are wasting your time trying to explain these things to the masses. Most people bought this phone cause they thought it was *LIKE* the iPhone. Some people simply bought this phone because they were sick of the sidekick. I gave up on these kinds of people. They dont know, nor care why the platform exists or what it stands for, but they just want one thing....to be *LIKE* an iPhone and that's all. This is why Apple is so popular now. They think FOR you.First, apple may or may not have revolutionized the AMERICAN phone scene, internationally, though, iPhone isn't so hot. Is it in clear competition, though? iPhone = iPod + phone. G1 = Google + phone. I don't see how they're in competition? One is based upon adding phone features to an entertainment device, the other combines the best products (search, email, calendar) that Google has to offer with a phone. One has a built in keyboard, the other doesn't. One is open source, the other isn't. They're so completely different, and designed for different consumers, not sure how they would be in competition?

That's not including the tweaker apps like picasa and download crutch
...or the games like bonsai blast, brain genius
...or the fun apps like The Schwartz, rim shot, Psycho, and SchottGunn
Secondly, you're mistaken about the flashlight apps. In real life, is there only one flashlight company, and only one flashlight? No, of course not, there are different sizes and varieties, some offer strobes and color differences and the flashlight apps on the market are much the same. To you, they seem like copycats, but to someone who actually wants specific features and has concerns about the size of the program, they are NOT all the same. I actually tried out several of them before finding one that I thought was small enough and had all the features I wanted. What you'd call "copycats" I call variety, competition, and that's part of what fuels innovation: people trying to make an app that has unique features.
But the paid apps have only been out a few months, and considering Android is a completely new concept, you're being rather unfair in comparing to apple, which had a strong entertainment hold before even introducing apps.
I agree with other posters, if you're this disappointed and impatient, Apple makes a product designed just for people like you. I'm all for people finding their happiness in life.

LOL "An Apple a day keeps the brain at bay" !!![]()
That's true, this is the company that thought you'd only need one button on your mouse, that a flash music player doesn't need a screen, and didn't it take them forever to start using color computer screens?Thank you for your post, but seriously....you are wasting your time trying to explain these things to the masses.
