AR key to Android dominance

While smartwatches have been on the news alot lately, I can't help but think Google is missing a huge opportunity not putting more resources into AR. While Glass was cool, stepping up support for something like the ARengine or other hardware optimized AR would really differentiate Android from Apple devices and Glass (2?) connectivity could be the killer app. Thoughts?

Agreed. I remember being really excited about AR then it kinda fizzled out with no decent uses.
As for glass, id love a fully immersive version for home use with bigger LCD over each eye and stereoscopic for a VR type experience. I can dream :)

Yep, I think if Google were to lead the way with hardware and let the dev community drive development (metaio/unity/aurasma) for innovative apps, then we will see android out-innovating Apple in some huge ways. Both platforms aren't really seeing major innovations anymore and this seems like perfect territory to own first.
