Help Arc Firmware Update Failure

Connected it to PC and it told me a software upgrade was available. So i proceeded with it, only for it to fail half way through. Now the phone wont boot up and all i get is a picture of a phone with an exclamation mark in a yellow triangle on screen, then it powers off.

I've just spoken to an S.E online advisor and he just said its because the update process takes up alot of power and he's told me to charge the phone for 45 mins then try the update again, which i have done and it fails at the same point as before, so then i charged it for 6 or so hours and tried yet again, only for it to fail even earlier on during the update.

Any ideas?

Instead of using PC companion, try updating the phone using SEUS instead (Sony Ericsson Update Service). You can download it from

I also have this same issue and I am a business pay monthly customer at o2 and this will be the FOURTH time they have replaced this phone. This tells me they don't know what is causing it, but it cannot be the handset as it keeps happening. Is there an answer out there?
