Are all US GSIIIs the same?

Verizon, ATT, Sprint, etc - are all the phones identical in hardware with different software differentiating them?

If I was to disassemble a Verizon and an ATT to compare them, mechanically, would they be identical? Same MB, same chips, etc.?

I think just different cellular radios because of the different frequencies. I also think the T-Mobile has a different processor and definitely a different radio since it doesn't have LTE support.
 
The European version has a different processor. The US versions all share the same hardware. The only reason t-mobile doesn't support LTE is their network isn't setup for it yet.
 
I miss the guy who worked at a medical facility and would routinely x-ray PDAs for comparisons. According to CNet Samsung said the hardware is the same on all US models. The difference is in network and carrier specific services pre-loaded on the device. That article is kind of old though.
 
i read on another thread that the Verizon version has NFC in the battery door??

i didn't even think that was possible. if that's the case then, couldn't someone buy a Verizon battery door for their non-Verizon phone, and then use a non-NFC battery?
