Are any of you guys considering buying a Nexus 7 tablet?

I am really contemplating buying the 16 GB version. I think it would be a good compliment to my Esteem. What do you guys think? Is there another tablet in the market that offers a better value?

Yeah, I"m considering this one. If it had an sdcard it would be perfect and a no brainer decision. I have a rooted Nook Color running a version of ics and I get a lot of use out of it.

The Nexus with it's specs, screen, and running jelly bean for $250 looks like a great deal to me.

Go for it my Kids have kindles with cm9 and they are nice and fast and the nexus with jelly bean is a beast

I was going to preorder one till I found out there isn't expandable memory and JB doesn't have flash support

I want to buy it. The 16gb thing I have not problem with. I doubt Im going to use it all up. The reviews have been looking good too. But what I really want, is a JB phone :/

This tablet might not be as big as an ipad but make no mistake about it this tablet is a diabolical all in one multi-media tablet that will eat any other tablet on the market for lunch and spit out it's transistors! we are talking about a quad core cpu on a asus motherboard with second to none graphics! this machine was built for gaming, surfing, skyping whatever u can throw at it and it comes with the new 4.1 jellybean!!!!!!!!! it has 9 hours of battery constant use and like what was it 300-400 hours of standby time? for around $200 i swear aint gonna beat that deal nowhere! even asian bootlegged tablets cost just as much or even more and u dont get specs anywhere near those mentioned above...... anyways im wanting this beauty but might have to wait i have certain priorities that comes first :(

No, just have no need for any tablet. I am sure if I get one, it will end up somewhere on a dusty shelf in my house.

JB doesn't impress me, and no flash support boo. I hate mobile versions of sites. JB has to much of that metro tile esc windows thing going on for my taste

I have had my Nexus 7 16g for over 2 weeks now. Coming from a Nook Color this is an absolute beast. The screen is beautiful and it is fast as hell. Was easy to root using the toolkit.

There are a number if intriguing rom's out there I am playing with and I have had no problems whatsoever with this. Well, because I like doing a nandroid backup of a rom when I put another on I am running into space issues but I've changed to twrp from cwm and it's compression is helping. I'm waiting for an otg cable I ordered to arrive and then I plan to put nandroids and tb backups on a stick.

Mine oc's stable at 1500 and battery life has been fine so far. I had a little bit of screen separation on the left side above center. If I pushed on the edge there I could feel it move in and out slightly. I found many posts about tightening/loosening screws, trimming plastic bits, making washers out of pill packs, etc. But what initially sounded like the most ridiculous thing was the first I tried and it worked. I started up stablity test to stress the cpu/gpu, heating up the beast. While this was running I put 3 text book sized books on it. After about 2 hours (called for 3 but my battery died), I turned off the test and put the books back on for another 2 (called for 3 but my work day was over). This reheated the glue and had it harden with the pieces tight together. It worked great and I've had no issues for 2 weeks.

Get this tablet, you won't be disappointed.

I'll be waiting til the Q4 and Q1 of 2013, I'll keep saving and hold on to my Esteem and NC for the moment, Christmas is around the corner. I bet better things are on the way (GS3 on metro, the new iPhone 5, etc.). Plus I expect that the second generation of the Nexus 7 will have a SD card slot. They never give the best product on the first generation, they always leave stuff out to make more money with the next generations to come from the product.

The day i can get my investing software, some of it custom made, to run on a tablet i will be tempted...as well when ram / flash storage can be updated by user...until then it's laptops for me.

I have owned the Nexus 7 for over 2 weeks. I have the 16 GB version.

I love this thing. To me the form factor is the perfect size. To those worried about flash... FLASH works with a couple different browsers, just not on Chrome browser.

You can go to xda and find out how to get flash working as well as the ability to expand the memory.

With all of the cloud services, you really don't needs tons and tons of on board storage.

Not to mention...you can use Google voice and pair that with an app called TALKATONE in the market ( free ) and you can use the Nexus 7 to make phone calls. Pretty cool!!

You thought people looked funny talking on a 5" galaxy note. Wait till they see me holding up my nexus 7 lol!!

Yes...it's over wi-fi , but still pretty cool to be able to do it!

I'm looking into buying the nexus 7,I got the Toshiba thrive 10.1 it's dual core but it has full size USB,hdmi and sdcard slot and we funky got Ics so I'm kinda waiting for cm9 till then I'll upgrade to the nexus 7.

For 199.00 plus tax...you get a lot for your money! Can't go wrong...this thing can handle all you can throw at it and then some!!

I bought the N7 a couple weeks ago and can honestly say it is incredible. For those of you using an LG Esteem you are going to be blown away by how smooth and powerful this tablet. If you are looking for a 7 inch tablet at the moment this is the one to get.

Now that a tablet is supposedly on way to Metro, that will supplant phone.
Then as far as a possible laptop supplant (even if only part of the time), let's see at holiday time what shakes out between MS, nook, kindle, nexus, etc. ESP. As far as better specs.

But personally, right now the nexus, no matter how cheap, would be both fairly useless luxury n additional object to lug around all the time.
