HI guys!
in order to understand me, i will give you a little background info.
i come from Palm devices.
when something went wrong, the worse, a lost, a cracked a damaged device, you could even throw it on fire.
but if you purchase the SAME device and set the same name was in the previous one, you just connect it (usb cable) to your pc (palmdesktop), perform a hotsync, the app will identify that there is nothing installed in the new device then will aks if you want to transfer all stored in palmdesktop back to that new device, you just hit yes (and despite palm desktop only shows you address, memos, photos, todo lists, calendar events... but it also strore all the apps and settings)
and it will perform a synchronization that takes a little bit longer than the regular one but it will restore EVERYTHING. like if nothing would have happened to your old device.
there also was an app called, resco explorer which had a function for backup, it was even better, it just clone the device to a folder, and you copy that file whenever you want, in a new device you just use that file, run it from the app, and after a hard reset you have everything like before.
...end of the background...
i have a nexus 7, almost perfect but the sd card slot, i know google wanted it that way so to force us to use their services for backup.. which i find unreliable (despite the privacy concerns) because i depend on internet to reach my data.
i constnatsly think, i see my gorgeous nexus 7 2013, i take so much benefits of it, for my classes, my work, my studies and for the free time.... but WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF I GET IT DAMAGED IN SUCH A WAY I CAN EVEN TURN IT ON TO TRANSFER SOME DATA..... OR TO ENABLE MASS STORAGE OPTION TO COPY ALL TTHERE... what if i lost it, i know that a broken screen (which is the main damage in these devices) sometimes, lets you use a part or the touch options are available yer... but sometimes it is broken, what if its so broken that the board is broken.. in other way inaccessible.. if this device would AT LEAST have a sdcard slot, i would remove it for a backup/restore.
i knwo i can connect the nexus as usb and copy the internal memory, but it is slow for backing up a 32gb device, which willlead to create lazynes, and i pobably will have a several months old copy if something goes wrong with this device....
what do o you guys suggest?
are there any desktop sync suit for this device that i just click on any "sync" button and thats t!?
why thinks are not simple/reliable and fast like that, i have nothing agaisn the internet, but for soem things, it is not wise to rely in a third, if we continue with that behavior wi will have refrigerator within a few years that will need to access an account in order to let us open the door..., it sounds ridicoulosu but they WILL find the way to convice us it is necessary.
