Are there any ROMs that support using part of the SD card as INTERNAL storage?

I know that some ROMs on other phones have the ability to take a portion of the SD card, partition it as SD-ext storage, and then to make that part of the card appear as internal storage to the OS.

However, as far as I know, this is ROM dependent.

Are there any ROMs for this phone which are capable of this?

Actually this feature is kernel dependent. The mount points have to be modified in the ramdisk for that to work.

I see.

As far as I know, kernels can be changed while leaving the ROM alone (sometimes).

Do you have one that supports the function in question, or do you know of one for this phone?

From what little I know, it is somehow related to something called "init.d", some kind of startup script, I'd guess?

I found a ROM here (though not CyanogenMod like I was hoping) that says that it includes "init.d support", with no more details. http://androidforums.com/vitality-all-things-root/587613-rom-cwm-oc-kernel-oa-2-3-20-final-cricket-mpcs-updated-09-23-12-a.html

Does that mean that this ROM supports that function?

That rom is not for this phone. Like it was said, its all in the kernel.

That ROM is for this phone, look at what forum it's in. (Vitality/Admire are the same phone, just different carriers) :-)

I'm running it now.

Anyhow - Is there a kernel for this phone that supports what I want to do, and if so, where is it?

damn it sorry, i was on tapatalk when i posted that and i thought i was on another phones forum. big mix up on my part:o yeah that rom is for our phone lol but there isnt anyway to do what you are asking. no kernel we have support swap partition which does what you are asking about. the best this phone can offer is partitioning your sd card thru CWM to create a second partition as ext4 and then use links2sd to install apps to your sd card instead of the internal memory. btw OA is a very good rom, whether you are running the lazy or overclockable version. btw if you like the ICS look then you can flash this theme: http://androidforums.com/admire-all-things-root/609859-theme-ics-oa-2-3-20-a.html

i know a bit about init.d support can what i can do, basically init.d support uses scripts to improve certain functions such as a faster phone, better data connection, etc it all depends on the script itself and what it was made. BUT most roms that have init.d support usually contain built in scripts that make the rom work and stabalize. before looking at any scripts you should look into the rom to see if there are any already in it as adding more scripts can cause things go wonking. an example of a script is this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24390549
this is just one exampe of the scripts out there, there also ones like kickass kernelizer, smurfed out, v6 supercharger. i think some scripts are out there on this forums that work good for this phone but I myself dont know how to implement them

umm in this thread there a few scripts but this thread is kinda messy so you really have to look for them and not only that, im not sure if the links are still active. the few scripts are at the bottom of the first post
