Samsung hasn't actually said or leaked anything yet.

No it wont co it didnt mention about the UK yet so bets wait until the news spill out then update via Kies software, just have to wait until few days or weeks... plenty of time and no need to hurry to update, my phone still using 2.2.1 at the moment.

Samsung Galaxy S to get Android 2.3 Gingerbread 20th of March - Recombu

I guess the release will be just like the froyo in Like 1 week for all the Galaxy S owners

I've got a funny feeling Orange (my provider) will take a long time to roll out Gingerbread for the SGS on their network. I think they will try to make an attractive difference between the SGS2 on Gingerbread and my SGS which they'll keep on Froyo 2.2.1 - so they can boost sales of the SGS2...

I hope I'm wrong TBH

Still waiting for 2.2.1 in Brisbane, Australia. I've heard they have it back home in NZ already. I've given up hoping my phone will do anything. Even making and answering calls can be painful at times.

I gave up waiting for AU carriers/Samsung AU to release it here and just flashed it myself.

Yeah Im still under warranty so I might wait, also I have a protection plan for my phone that I pay for so now way am I gonna break my contract by flashing the phone. The guy told me if it were to happen that my phone break around when SII comes out that they will give me that because im paying more for the coverage.

Funny you mention carriers, I see 3 just released 2.2 at the start of this month, but I have been using it since December last year on their network. Not sure if that may be some of my problems right there or not?
