Are you upset about the Sprint Premier changes?

Are you upset that Sprint took our annual upgrade away

1) no idea what you're trying to say.
2) Sprint has grandfathered people into many plans. But, not this added perk becuase its not part of the plan.
3) Now you're trolling.
4) have you ever been happy in your life?

Look, I know it sucks, but youve gone on and on about this in several threads, now youre taking it into other forums, and it gets bounced back here. Man, just get over it, the whining is starting to get old.

1) Where did I say anything about Sprint pushing back your contract? They took our annual upgrade, and it will be pushed back to 22 months for the full credit.

2) As I have stated many times, other carriers grandfather their current customers. If you keep asking the same questions.... then you will get the same answers.

1: I quoted it.... if you didn't mean this then I'm sorry, but what ever you were trying to say didn't make much sense.

2: I have never asked a question about any grandfathering or any question about understanding premier... how would I get the same answers?

this thread should just be removed...

Like a lot of EVO Owners I joined Sprint in June/2010. One of the reasons I joined was the Annual Sprint Premier Upgrade. That was I could get the new hot phone every year, and sell my old one to recover most of the cost.

With the recent Sprint Premier changes, many of us will not qualify for the annual upgrade. Sprint will not allow us to use the advertised upgrade even one time.

Am I the only one upset about this?

*Please, only vote if you no longer qualify for the annual upgrade.

This really isn't a big deal. I find the added ten dollar charge for all smartphones to be a bit more troubling.....just sell your phone on ebay before the next one comes out and then use that money to buy the next one on there. If you time this right, you wont worry about upgrade.

3) This thread should remain in the EVO forums, as a lot of EVO owners are new to Sprint, and had their annual upgrade taken away before they had the chance to use it. Even the one time.

That is the reason that I stated that people should only vote, if they had their annual upgrade taken away. I noticed a couple of you are not affected by Sprints changes, yet voted anyway. Way to be honest.

4) I am not going to just pay the ETF. If I am unhappy with their customer service and their changes to my plan... they will hear it. And other potential customers will hear it too.

3) This is not an Evo specific issue, and does not belong in the Evo forums.

And yes, I voted, but the first thing I saw when opening the thread was the poll, so I voted. If you do not want people who get to keep Silver status voting put that in the poll header, not the first post. I would still have the same opinion if I had lost my status.

4) Again, they made no changes what so ever to your plan, they changed a PERK, get over it.

LOL.

The level of hypocrisy here is just funny.

Let me see.

On one hand, you have people that complain when sprint does not release a new phone every month, sprint charges extra because people are using more data, do not have wimax coverage, slow 3g/4g speeds, losing customers, poor customer service, and now because they don't get sprint to pay half for a phone.

BUT

New phones cost sprint money.
Excess data users cost sprint money.
Wimax build out, cost sprint money.
Increasing 3g/4g speed cost sprint money.
Keeping customers cost sprint money.
Good customers service cost sprints money.
Paying for your phone cost sprint money.

Now I know I can go through every user in this topic's and find where you have complained about both sides. 1.) Sprint is costing you too much money and 2.) Sprint not doing enough for you.

It is like all you what to do is complain?

So which is it?

Do you want to pay for good service, plans, and phones OR do you want to keep your money and not have good service, plans, and phones?

It seems the latter, so I will help you out. Anyone that is in this topic complaining about costing them more money, will be reminded of this decision the next time they try to complain about not having good service, plans, or phones.

Hey, if I complain it is for a damn good reason...or maybe to just hear myself rant...

Why does BigEd get to complain? Just because he's a Silver Sprint member? Because he's a Samurai? I bet he got that tatoo free from Sprint, too. This is a bunch of BS. I'm calling Sprint and demanding they give me a full refund on my Evo.

I've owned my Evo for over 2 full months now and no upgrade incentitives? I hope Sprint goes out of business.

It takes action like this to get noticed!;) (and yes, shhhh...I am a samurai)

I have seen multiple people (or maybe just one person multiple times) in this thread saying that if you are not Gold as of April 1st your "next upgrade date" will be reset to 22 months from April 1st. It is possible that I missed something, but I read the info page on Sprint's website and I do not see that anywhere.

My interpretation is that if you are eligible for an upgrade before April 1st but do not use it by that date your upgrade date will be reset to 22 months after your last upgrade.

i.e. if you last upgraded on 2/28/10, you are currently eligible for upgrade. If you do not upgrade by April 1st, your next upgrade date will be moved to 12/28/11, not 2/1/13.

If I am wrong about this, please link to something actually on Sprint's website that disputes it, not a quote from this thread by someone who may simply be misinformed.

The change in premier status doesn't effect EVO owners as much as Hero / moment owners who were looking forward to the yearly upgrade because their phones are trash and waited for something better than the Evo/Epic/ Evo shift. At least EVO owners have a workable phone. I've been eligible for upgrade since Oct but I've been waiting to upgrade from my hero to something "future-proof" (I know that devices are outdated once released but the EVO and epic have been already out for 8+ months and it would be stupid to not wait to upgrade to the next cycle of phones with dual core, larger RAM, larger ROM, etc.) and the EVO shift wasn't that big of an upgrade even though it has 2nd gen snapdragon. With the change in policy I will probably have to wait a couple months longer than I am now.

I would bet that the Evo was part of their decision to change premier.
More likely Sprint trying to stop the flood of upgrading Moment (and Hero) users, as repinphilly also stated. I know I was planning on upgrading in May. Now I'm waiting for March of 2012, but the world will have exploded by that time (John Cusack told me so).

So quit yer bitchin', you owners of awesome phones, and show some pity for those of us who are truly screwed.

how long can you hold onto that mantra that Sprint is cheaper. Now that Sprints cheapest smartphone plan is $80.

With att, you can get a smartphone for as little as $55. Outside of their 2gb data limit, Their $85 plan with any mobile anytime AND rollover is similar to sprints plan.

Att also grandfather's their Current customers as a courtesy, something that Sprint no longer cares to do.

If you compare packages that have the same features (data, minutes, etc.) sprint is still the cheapest. Just saying. its not a mantra. It just is what it is. You said it yourself. at&t's $85 plan is similar to sprints $80 plan. Just like Verizons $85-$90 plan is similar too. But more expensive.

I won't be complaining about this one I guess....

3:30:15 PM : Greg H: I am happy to inform you that your account will be Sprint premier Gold effective 4/1/11 due to 10+ years tenure and you will receive all Premier benefits, including annual upgrade on qualifying lines.

I emailed and complained and they called me and gave me my upgrade immediately. It will re-up my 2 year contract, but no biggie. I'll just up my plan for 3 months next year to get Gold again.

It is not, and has never been, a 4G charge. "Premium Data" is what it's for, meaning smart phones use more and more data every day. To maintain the network and ensure your experience with Sprint data is a good one they need to raise fees to cover it.
hmmm... see the thing is... if you FOLLOW the MONEY, for EVERY 4G device that a Sprint customer uses/owns (depending on whether you talk to Clear or Sprint), Sprint pays Clear $9/mo. So 4G customer pays Sprint $10/mo, Sprint pays Clear $9/mo... FOR 4G service. 4G service is provided by CLEAR, not Sprint. Clear must get paid for it. So of course this 4G fee is a 4G fee... you prefer to call it a "pay Clear fee" instead, fine.

Oh, but now Sprint levies the $10/mo on all smartphones... that somehow makes it *not* a 4G fee? That's called a Sprint covers its @ss and grabs more $$$ from its customers fee. Just because there is *now* a non-4G fee as well as a 4G fee doesn't make the Clear fee not a 4G fee.

And the kicker is: Sero-P customers STILL have a 4G fee. That's right. Sero-P that use a 4G phone ONLY are the ONLY customers that pay the 4G fee. Sero-P customers that have 3G smartphones DO NOT pay the extra $10/mo 4G fee. That's because 3G-only customers don't incur costs on the Clear 4G network.

Did anyone really think that Sprint can offer services on Clear's 4G network and NOT have those costs passed back onto Sprint 4G customers ??? really?

^^^ the whole in your arguement....

4G phones in non-4G areas.. still pay $10 fee.
for the data consumption.

for those that are in 4G areas.. sprint gets enough to cover the clear cost. but still has to cover the network cost of data on the 3G.

That will change on April 1st, and will move to 4/1/12

Even worse... people who are eligible prior to April 1, and are under 22 months since their last upgrade, will get their annual upgrade pushed back to 22 months.

I am not sure how Sprint Can defend that. They are literally stealing upgrades that people have earned.
I just spoke to Sprint today. Learned a few things.

For one I have an upgrade eligible to me as of 12/01/10 and I will NOT lose it when they make their changes. The last upgrade was in December of '09. Once I upgrade it will be 22 months before I am eligible to receive the full discount again.

I also was pretty sure my 2 year agreement ended in December this year. It actually did but come to find out because I added a 25% discount to my account (and they failed to tell me that it extended my contract again). So by getting this discount I reupped for another two years and my contract wont end now until May of '12. Wish they would of told me this. It kind of pisses me off to be honest. They always trap you into this kind of crap. All the CS Rep has to do is "type" that he put it in the notes and you're screwed. On my unborn child they never told me once in any fashion that it would sign me up for another 2 years from the date the discount was added.

I used to work for T-Mobile as a CS Rep so I know it's pretty much common practice to do these kind of things. It's a bunch of horse shit if you ask me.

FML!!!!

Seriously?!? I added discounts two separate times at AT&T (technically Cingular, then AT&T) without having my contract renewed! That's crap.

Same here. Sprint added my employer discount without contract extention.
You might wanna call and check then. That's what they told me on Sunday. They said it renewed because of the employer discount. They didn't tell me and probably the same with you. Call CS and ask your contract end date for you account.

I'm just telling you what they told me.

Thanks, but this was a while ago and I've checked online. Nothing has changed.

They told me the same thing about my employer discount, that it'd extend my contract. So I'm waiting til I upgrade again to apply it.
