Arial location on HTC Hero?

UCS

Ok so i've bought one of those copper sticker type things off the internet that are supposed to increase you phone signal (we all know the Hero can be a bit a lame in that department).

The sticker is supposed to be put near the internal arial.. does anyone know where this is on the phone?

Can't find the schematics online!

you should buy a couple of quids worth and stick them all over the back of your hero.

i did consider that but then one of my techie friends said there was some magic formula for signal reflection like the arial has to be 1.5x the signal strength wattage.. i had no idea what he was on about.

My Hero has a fantastic signal. It's the first I've seen lame and Hero together in the same sentence ;-)

The ideal antena is 1/4 the wavelength of the signal you're trying to recieve. In the case of the HSPA 900/2100MHz network, your wavelengths are 14cm and 33cm, so your ideal antena lengths will be about 3.5cm and 8.3cm.

Those little stickers are basically nets of conductive material in the appropriate length to catch the cellular frequencies, so they could theoretically help. Realistically though, cell phones already have optimized antenas, so adding one of these stickers only henders the signal.
