Gone to B/W after year and a half of reliable use. Could this be a settings issue or... Simply failed? Guidance sought.

like everything is black and white? if so i do not recall a setting for something like that. i do not have your phone so i could be wrong, but i do not see a reason to go just black and white. try a factory reset and see if it is still b&w.....if so then yeah something is wrong with the screen.
