Help Arrow when typing

I just swapped to a bionic from an original motorola droid, and am loving it for the most part but there's one feature that's bugging me. There's a fairly large arrow that points to words that are being typed whether I'm using the default keyboard or the swype one. Is there any way to disable it?

I just checked mine, and I only see the arrow just as I start to type to indicate where the first letter will show. After that it disappears and i tried this both with the stock and with swipe.

That arrow aides in editing text. You can drag it to set the cursor where you want. Mine disappears when I begin to type as well. Then tap and it reappears.

Gets in the way when choosing swype words though. Anyone know of a way to disable it?

swype works so smooth for me that i do not have to choose the words above, so i ignore it.
