Help ARRRRGGGGHHH boot loop sgs2 bricked?

Hi -I was using my rooted and custom ROM SGS2 fine until the other day when I had a "binary update" that was required. To cut a long story short I now have a phone S2 GT-19100 (unlocked from 3 Network) that appears to have crashed into some kind of boot loop. When i switch it on I cant get into recovery mode ie volume key, power and home button. The screen then goes to its stock splash screen and stays there. It doesn't move from the model and make number and the yellow triangle until the battery power runs out. I can only switch the thing off by taking the battery out. Neither will it connect to Samsung Kies. I am after flattening the thing and starting again if possible, but my question is how do I do that? I was using Biftor ROM running 4.4.1 from memory.

Any help would be appreciated but please keep it simple. Thanks

Sounds like your update was borked and screwed up your recovery. Can you get it into download mode? With the power off (battery pull in your case) hold both volume buttons and plug in the usb cable or volume up and home and then plug in the usb cable (not sure which). If that doesn't work you might need a jig. In any case once there, you can use odin to reflash your rom and recovery.
