This article is not today's news but it clearly tells VMs view of rooting and even changing the smallest details. They continue to piss me off so I will be leaving them soon, especially after seeing this : Virgin Mobile: Don't Root Our Android Phones | News & Opinion | PCMag.com

I wouldn't get too worked up over it. There isn't a carrier out there that doesn't want to stop people from rooting their phones.

I believe that the courts ruled that such terms of service were unconscionable since then.

They all discourage it. Doesn't stop any of us here from rooting, yes?

They all discourage tethering, too, yet look at how the FCC handed Verizon their heads for that the other day.

There was specific reasons for Verizon, their new 4G spectrum was obtained at an auction with the stipulation that it would be open.
