Help AS Fastboot Flash mode after dropping in toilet

A few weeks ago i dropped my Moto G in the toilet somehow(i know hilarious). it was after i'd used it and before i'd flushed it(i know even more hilarious). i've seen reviews where they put their Moto G in water for 30 seconds and it still works, but mine was in there for a split second because as it was falling i reached into the toilet and grabbed it out so it couldn't have been in there for more than a second. i immediately turned it off, although it didn't seem to be affected as the game was still playing fine, and put it in a towel(i didn't think about rice). then about a day later i took the phone apart and put it in rice for about 5 days and then put it on charge it seemed to not work at first unless i unplugged the battery but after charging it for a while it started to work.

Here is a photo of the moto g with the back off: http://i.gyazo.com/342673823fc12b9134927da69e0f604c.png

Now the problem was that when i turned it on it would have the motorola powered by android screen (seen here: http://i.gyazo.com/ea049be577f3116b425156012cdd9197.png) come on for a few seconds then go off for a few seconds it would just do this endlessly, but when i held the volume down button i would get the AS Fastboot Flash Mode screen (Seen here: http://i.gyazo.com/54fb18ce3cf025a0c324fa4ad4c846bc.png), but whenever i select an option no matter what option it goes back to the motorola powered by android screen and goes off and on again.

I think it might be the battery because i've charged the battery for days and on the fastboot screen it says battery ok but when its not plugged in it wont turn on. Would i be able to send it to motorola and see what they think or would they just keep it because i opened it?

it may also be the storage device which could explain why it wont boot because maybe it cant find the bootloader because the storage device is broken, but i need an opinion from someone with better knowledge than me.

Also im a programmer and know c++ among other languages so if there is anything i can program to fix it let me know and i can try it

Welcome to Android Forums.

I think you are going to find that the problem is that it was powered on when it hit the water. The worst condition possible is to have a wet phone powered on.

My guess is hardware repair./replace.

Hi Thom, that was a very speedy reply. i don't think any water got in because its so tightly sealed and also its supposed to have a hydrophobic coating and it was in water for a split second and when it came out it was put straight into a towel. so if it is water damaged would i be able to get it replaced because it didn't do what they said it would

Officially the Moto G isn't certified as water resistant, so even though it's known for being able to survive water contact I'm not sure if they'd replace a water damaged phone. Depending on how it fell your phone could have also been damaged from hitting the toilet.

Either way it couldn't hurt contacting them to see what they would do. :)
