Assistance pls...Re: "Forcing Apps to install to the SD Card without root"

Lurker
Hi, last night (NZ time), I followed the "Forcing Apps to install to the SD Card without root" instructions and on the face, appeared all went well but after realising a few of my apps must run from the phone memory not sd card, I moved them back. I've gotten a litte more internal memory yet lost saved data from progs that were suppose to only run from the phone, ie this calendar reminder app (nudnik, fantastic app for ppl like myself that need reminding about heaps of things that otherwise my busy schedule would have me forget!) and Norton Security and Anti Theft which would only fully protect my phone if running from the phone not sd card. Ok, my question, can I assume that new apps that I download will give me the option to save to my phone or will they automatically save to the sd card or try and fail if they cannot? Shoots, hope I haven't confused anyone, I'm not computer illiterate but not a pro at this either :o. Also, what other problems can I expect whereby I may need to stop apps storing directly to my sd card?

I'm glad to hear that this worked for you. The default install location for new apps is now the SD card, so the phone will try to install them there first. If it can't, they'll go to internal memory.

Cheers!
