astro file manager

Why don't you have the Market?

Anyway, you can google "astro file manager apk" and download that apk file. Then move it to your phone via usb, and install it that way.

Where is your location, HXMA? In some regions Market isnt available- the Middle East being one of them. Instead of Android Market we have SlideMe. Our Galaxy Tabs come with both WiFi and 3G and can be used to make calls.

downloaded com.metago.astro-2.5.2.apk on computer. copied it to htc desire. Now could not see the coped file on mobile device.Plz help.

If this a legal copy, you could try with your browser: Menu > ... More > Downloads

Harry

Thanks for reply.
Menu--> then which option? where can I find the Downloads folder?
If i copy from PC to mobile device connected to PC as a flash drive, where can I view these copied files?
On desktop , I can view copied files/folders but couldnt find on mobile device.Pls help.
How can I get information about legal copy of astro?

Ah a catch-22.

It won't be in your 'downloads' because you copied it to the SD from your computer, not downloaded from the internet via your browser.

The way in which I install APKs that I've copied from my computer? I navigate to them using Astro File manager...I see your conundrum.

Unfortunately I don't have any idea what you can do unless you have app already installed that you can look around your folders on the SD card with, then run the APK.

I wonder if there's a way to share you're PC's internet connection via the USB - without installing an app to achieve it?

Why can't you use the market or Wifi? Does your phone have ANY internet connection?

I take it, you have used your phone's browser for download.
So open your browser, press Menu button > ... More > Downloads ... install your .apk

From PC view it is the folder 'downloads' at the SD card.

The legal copy is the free version with adds :)

EDIT: ... copied from your PC to SD card?
If so, you could use your browser with input
file:///sd/<your .apk file>

you'll have to put the file path (the folder it's in etc) after the sd/.

thanks for quick reply ,but i didnt put apk it in sd. I just copied it to mobile, by default does it goes to SD?

You copied it with the USB cable right?

The SD card is the only place it can go, there'll be a bunch of folders on the SD for different things.

When you connect your phone to your PC, you're actually only letting your computer read and write to the SD card.

one note, to see your SD card on your phone you will have to disconect your phone from your PC (when it's in File transfer mode your SD card is unmounted from your phone)
