Help Asurion Insurance/Galaxy S3 Verizon

Just bought a galaxys3 for verizon from my friend for cheap. He bought it full retail a week or so ago and didn't want it.

Verizon wasn't able to transfer my insurance to this phone and said to call asurion. Asurion insurance enrollment is closed for the day, but this is still only 7 or so days old.

Can I still get insurance on this phone even though I didn't purchase it directly from verizon? I thought you had 30-60 days to enroll a new phone with asurion and it didn't matter where you got it from.

Btw, I was able to add Asurion Insurance to my phone.. just for future reference.'

Any admin can lock this if they want.

From what I recall you maybe out of luck for the manufacturer's warranty since you are not the original purchaser. But the insurance should cover the lost and broken aspect.

Lost/broken = I have i insured with a rider on my homeowner's policy. $30/year.
