Asus Transformer $250 on Black Friday at Best Buy

Why would anyone even consider the Nook Tablet against the Transformer? The Nook Tablet isn't going to be much of a tablet, more like an e-reader with expanded capabilities: it won't have access to the Android market. So there's no comparison to be had here.

I was considering Transformer vs Xoom myself, though now I'm torn between Transformer and Thrive. I don't think Toshiba generally makes quality products, but the user-replaceable battery is pretty compelling. I'm leaning Transformer, though, because of the better viewing angles, consistency of updates, and the fact that Asus is a quality company--but I'm still not 100% sure.

Well the Nook Tablet or Kindle Fire are the only 'tablets' that are within my budget. The rooting community should have the Nook Tablet unlocked for ROMs. I saw that the Transformer will be priced the same as the Nook Tablet, so it's more affordable.

Ah, ok. I don't follow rooting news myself--not really interested in rooting my devices.

Personally, I really like what I see about the Transformer. The screen looks great, it has a decent number of ports, and I know Asus is a great company--I have an Asus laptop. The only compelling reason I'm finding now to consider something else is the fact that the battery of the Thrive can be replaced. If that's not a consideration, it looks like the Transformer is the best available tablet. (Can't say I understand the love so many give the Galaxy Tab, given it has no ports.)
