At my wits end with Android

Hello, my user is AceTrainerAndy. I got an Android phone in April and it has been nothing but problems. The guy at the At&t store talked me out of an iPhone which I am mad about.

I was fed up with Google's data mining practice so I went on a deleting spree. I went to the 'running' section under application manager and deleted some processes with Google's name. Now, I can't open the Google Play Store. I restored all the Google things that I turned off. I opened the GP store and typed in my account again and it said some process stopped working. I have a Samsung Galaxy SIII Mini with At&t.

Hi Acetrainerandy. I strongly suggest that you check into the area where your phone is supported and discussed here at Android Forums. I'm certain the members there that know your phone best will help you get that baby working so well that you will be ever so grateful for that salesman's advice about buying an android phone. Not knowing which phone you have, I'm leaving you a link to all of the phone areas. Just click on your device and you will be redirected to the correct support area. Have fun. Here is your link: Android Phones - Android Forums

The issue of who is doing what evil with personal info has been discussed Ad infinitum with no true resolution. I don't think Google is any better or worse than Apple (or MS) in this, but I understand your concerns. I am a little surprised an at&t rep talked you out of an iPhone, I thought they were all trained to do the exact opposite.

As for your phone, since so much has been futzed up, it's probably time to do a factory data reset. This will wipe everything so make sure any photos or data in main memory you care about are backed up at least to the sd card. If you're syncing with Google, most if not all of your apps will come back after you sign back in. Good luck
