AT&T #1? Think Again!

yeah I saw that... Verizon should put out a new commercial throwing that in AT&T's face hahaha
 
And AT&T wanted to sue over those 3G commercials. Go for it, Verizon has Consumer reports to back it up now.
 
Haha boned. I always hated AT&T. Now that Verizon has a phone that doesn't suck, or two, I am even happier to stay with them.
 
That's so funny, VZW also has the highest rated network based on the federal governments independent analysis, but yeah the consumer reports that's great too...
There's a map for that...

I work in the IT Dept for a company that has IPhone for just about everyone, who has a company phone. And all I hear about is the dropped calls on the Iphone.
 
I'm sorry I just feel compelled to tell you all a story about an iPhone fanboy who walked into a Verizon Store when I was getting my Eris.

I'm sitting there in the waiting chairs, he and his SUPER HOT girlfriend (who he doesn't deserve, and I'll tell you why) walk in the store to look at the Blackberry Storm 2 sitting on display.

He proceeds to do a side-by-side comparison of his crappy iPhone and the Storm 2. He then aggressively mashes on the screen of the Blackberry, typing out a message.
As he's walking away I hear a lil gesture come from his mouth, like a sigh of disappointment.. I walk up to the Storm to see that he went to the messaging app and typed out this message "(Let's call her, since I can't remember)Cindy is a s**** and this phone is nothing like my iPhone."

I laughed my ass off at that because, being the POS it is, the Storm 2 is still better than the iPhone..
Sorry for the rant..just wanted to tell y'all the story of the iPhone fanboi who walked onto enemy grounds. :D
 
I saw this one iPhone fanboy, whom I went to H.S. with in a local verizon, and he spent over half an hour with the Moto Droid in hand! Heard the word, WOW! come out of him more than once.

AT&T will really be in trouble once Big Red gets the Iphone in 2010.

I can see the commercials airing already!

I highly doubt it's coming, after all those attack commercials against it.

We don't need it, nor want it.
It's a piece of garbage.
 
Nor do I want it. But like I said, if it INDEED comes...

Imagine, an iPhone, with coverage! hahahaha
 
Funny story but true...IT person was at my desk yesterday to repair my printer. He needed some help so he used my desk phone but the person he called wasn't at their desk. So he pulled out his iphone to call them directly. No service. Gee. Big surprise. I handed him my droid. Imagine that. I had service. He was able to reach them and fix my printer! He was drooling all over it before he left.

Given that my Motorola Q stays pegged on full bars w/ AT&T, and the HTC Tilt 2 will lose half its bars just by picking it up off the display cradle inside AT&T stores, and my co-workers with iPhones also having signal issues while sitting next to me, I disagree. It most definatley can be "the phone".

I also find it odd that all those Federal Govt. workers have spotty reception with their Blackberries,inside federal buildings, where again, my Q on AT&T has full bars.

"Both" of my Droids dropped connection in 4 different spots in my town, which has 3+ Verizon stores (and Fios kiosks), in the middle of the Balt/DC corridor. My front door is litterally 2 blocks from a VZ CO, and my neighborhood was one of the first to get Fios in the state...heavy, heavy VZ presence in my area. Yet my Droid would have intermittent signal loss (along w/3G->1x switching) while on my desk at home. Conversely, my Q and newly arrived Nokia N900 (on T-Mo) live on full bars in the same spot.

That said, I would not discount VZ's network based on the Droid's performance, nor due my mom's cheaper LG "flip phone", which struggles to keep 1 bar at her house, again, less than (2) miles from (2) different VZ stores. My Droids also performed poorly at her house. I'm not saying AT&T's coverage is superior, but reception with my Q has never been a concern, up and down the east coast. I can't say I'd have the same confidence with the Droid on VZ.

FWIW, I can't wait until my AT&T contract is up, finalizing my move to T-Mo's $10/mo, 7Mb+ network.

I understand that Verizon doesn't put antennae on top of the stores, my point was that there shouldn't "multiple dead zones" when in close proximity to the carrier's "multiple outlets". If the Verizon CO goes down, I 'doubt' that they would send techs out "with company cell phones", to an area where there is "no coverage". The point I was trying to make with the descriptions, was that I'm not in a fringe/low coverage area, and my poor reception may be due to the phone. I was merely qualifying my assesment on the Droid's performance and giving people a clearer insight to the situation.

For everyone knocking AT&T's, or anyone's network, they may want to dig deeper and not judge so quickly. One would think that if I'm in walking distance to (2) different VZ stores, I should not have dropped calls, I mean, wouldn't that be the one place were coverage should be good?
