If I recall correctly, the GS4 shipped with 4.2.2 out of the box. You probably got the update that closed up the root and bootloader exploits, as well as squash some bugs and enables apps2sd.
Since this is not root related, I've moved this to the general S4 forum and added an AT&T tag to the title.
