Help AT&T 747 S3 Clock in messaging

I can not for the life of me find out why the small icon of a clock appears next to only one of the contacts that i have been messaging with.

Can anyone shed some light on this? I have added a picture of it below.

I think, but not sure, that particular contact may be in one of your circles on G+.
Or you have them in your "hangouts" (formerly "g-talk")

Yeah, as it turns out, it was his email address showing he was either logged in or in this case logged out of Google Circles. I kept his phone number in his contact info but erased his email in my contact info and the icon went away.
