Ok, reading the topic, I bet your first thought was "great, another I HATE AT&T post", but this is quite the opposite.
Admissions:
I know they are not perfect, no company is. They do things with their plans and whatnot that irritate many customers. I have had bad time with AT&T, and good times.
Now, to go on...
I was with T-Mobile for 2 years, and not by choice, I had to get a T-Mobile phone/plan. I worked for them as a Tier 3 Systems Engineer working with productions systems. I was required to have a T-Mobile phone due to the need to be paged through their internal system which only sent notifications to T-Mobile phone. Sounds silly? Not really, internal network communications is more secure than sending this sensitive data to other networks.
On with the story... I no longer work for them and when I left, I was switched to a consumer plan and went under contract (starting from when I opened the account) to get a new phone.
I just ended my contract with them and moved back to my families AT&T family plan (where we have 5 lines).
No lines were eligible for an upgrade, so I had to use my Unlocked T-Mobile phone or buy a new AT&T phone. I scoured CraigsList and found a great deal on a new HTC Inspire 4G.
Worked great for a week or so, then disaster. It started eating SIM cards. The damage to the SIM cards was ONLY effecting DATA. I went though a couple calls to AT&T, I went to the store to get my SIM replaced, went though a couple more calls and in the end, they honored my warranty, on a phone I did not purchase through them, so I can get a new phone.
I was shocked when they told me that they would overnight a new phone (I say new because to me it is, I do know it's refurbished). It'll be here today.
No, not perfect, but I have not had any issues with Customer Service.
