I have a samsung galaxy s3 with cyanogenmod 10.1 experimental m3
my problem is something i am only encountering after i have rooted my phone a few weeks ago. I am a noob, so I might not be using the correct jargon or might not know the easy fix.
Problem:
I cannot install downloaded files of any kind that are not from the Google Play store. To be specific, Swype Beta (.apk), BetterBattery Stats (.apk) which was hosted on xda, music files and .doc from websites, a photo from the stock messaging (could be another issue), & .zip files (i have successfully used Androzip pre-root, not working now).
With Swype beta and BetterBatteryStats, i download the file, download completes, press the notification, goes to installer. On the installer screen, it has the whole 9, asks if i want to install the application, what the permissions are, and at the bottom there are the options "Cancel" and "Install". Nothing happens when I press install, but the Cancel button works.
With .doc file, clicking on file in file manager (in downloads folder) says there is no application registered to handle the type of file selected. Seems to be different from swype and BBS.
Help!
