I dont really like goomanager tbh. Apps like that make the process a bit to "easy" and you get lazy about knowing whats really happening so you dont know what to do when theres a problem. Also aparently its slow at updating especially with Gapps. Just my opinion though. i know a lot of people use it
I like goomanager because it's a tetherless way to flash/update twrp recovery. But it's servers are really slow when it comes to downloading roms or gapps from them
i have version 4.1.2 and its a rooted phone it is unlocked from rogers model no sgh i747m . there is no rom installed .have only been able to find roms for model sgh1747 on the web
I always recommend to people to stay away from apps that attempt to automate recovery functions. (Goo manager, ROM manager, ect)
They sound great when they work, but if something goes wrong and the phone won't boot you won't have the knowledge to get out of a jam when you've relied on these types of apps to do it for you.
I'd suggest downloading your Roms/ gapps manually, and flashing manually from recovery. Its really not that bad, I promise
Aparently you have to change the build prop from "d2can" to "d2att". You can use the build prop editor on the Rom Manager app. Then you can flash at&t roms (d2att)
UPDATE some people arent having to change the build prop, att roms just work. Use Goo Manager to flash TWRP then make a full backup in recovery before you flash anything else.
Id change the title of your thread and ask a mod to move it to the s3 at&t all things root forum if i was you. Good luck man
While I747 ROMs will typically work on an I747M, you must be careful to ensure it does not include anything else but software, and it is multi-carrier, i.e. will not only work for AT&T but possibly Telus, Rogers, Sasktel, etc.
(Splitting this up since the forums are having issues posting this all at once...)
At XDA, there are a few specifically for Canadian models. My personal favorite TouchWiz ROM, Dandroid, is designed by a Canadian originally for his Canadian phone:
