Root [AT&T] MMS ISSUES on Straight Talk

I think this is a common problem. I've tried my best to research this to find solutions, but everything I Find either does not work or doesn't actually have a solution; so here I am....

It's really frustrating that MMS does not work. I use this service (or did, rather) quite a lot with family and friends. I've contact ST about it, and the guy I spoke with tried for 30 minutes to fix it to no avail. He actually suggested I use a MMS app (like KIK), which is feasible but not everyone I know and share MMS with has these kinds of apps to their disposal (nor do they want the apps).

Has anyone in here discovered a solution to this problem? It seems to me it has to do with KitKat... straighttalk doesn't list 4.4.2 OS on their APN site as an option. I have to select "other."

i use an att one vx on straight talk and have zero issues with mms. ive also used an att one xl,and had no issue there, either. my unlocked t mobile m7 works fine with my straight talk sim, even picking up LTE. to admittedly ive not used it there that much,i typically use it on my t mobile line.

i guess the first question,is whose towers are your straight talk service using?

if your att based, the following apn settings have worked fine on my one vx and m7:

Code:
FIELD SETTINGS
NAME straight talk
APN tfdata
PORT 80
MMSC http://mms-tf.net
MMS PROXY	mms3.tracfone.com
MMS PORT	80

above taken from here:

my m7 has been "converted" to a developer edition,so its running that software and firmware. it is 100% stock, with the edition of superuser. if youre still stock,it could be an issue with att software or firmware.

another thing you can try is a 3rd party app like go sms. using a stock verizon dna on att straight talk, the only way mms would work is to use the go sms app.

hope that helps :)

Thanks. Once i can get my phone stable, I will try those settings. I looked all over the web for suggestions regarding the MMS to no avail, so I'm excited to try yours and hope it works!

I tried everything and it still does not work. I'm just left using e-mail or a photo app service to send photos.. which totally sucks. Oh well.

sorry your having issue still. i have been running cm11 on my t mobile m7 on straight talk for several days not,and went back to my develper edition to experiment. i found that mms would not send with the stock app,but would send with goSMS,tho they were slow. sometimes taking several minutes(or longer  )to appear

for what its worth, mms on cm11 is fine, with mms sending and recieving instantly. no other issues with it at all, other than being an AOSP based rom,you do lose blinkfeed, sense, and other stock features.

are you still running the stock att rom? you might try a custom rom such as ARHD,or maximus, and see if you still have issue there. if you think you might not mind AOSP give cm11 a try :)

also dont forget you can send pictures with fb messenger, hangouts, and you can try 3rd party mms apps if you havent allready. goSMS and handcent are a couple examples.
