Root [AT&T] Most stable/best battery life rom

Hey,
AT&T was just taking too long (if they ever) to update to jelly bean, so I decided to root my One X and try out some custom roms. I tried CM10, and it was pretty much a bust. The keyboard kept crashing. The phone would freeze...it was basically unusable. I then tried Venom XL. It has been pretty good, but it looks a little too much like sense, and the battery life seems below average.

Can anyone recommend a stable JB rom with at least average-above average battery life that stays closer to stock JB? It doesn't have to be top performance, have lots of tweaks, etc...just those three features I mentioned.

Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

I thought Venom XL (the latest version) was the most stable ROM out.
 
Venom XL was pretty stable (didn't experience any problems). But I want one that has less Sense (closer to vanilla android) and slightly better battery life. Do you know of any like that?
 
from what I know, cm (which you already tried) and AOKP (not sure if there's one out there for the HOXL) are the best ROMs to use to go vanilla android. what version of cm did you use? I've heard that most are fairly stable.
 
Ive been running AOKP jb mr 1 for att hox and I think that has a pretty stockish look. Before that I was on Viper...I love that rom btw....now I'm running Carbon a 4.2.2 rom that I just flashed, I'm looking forward to see how it runs...it looks awesome so far...I really wanted the dashclock. Hope it helped!!
