My phone

-S3 for AT&T
-Rooted with cwm root from recovery
-Originally flashed with cyanogenmid 11
-Flashed back to stock jellybean
-SIM chip
-Unlocked for use with MetroPCS
-Pebble blue SGH 1747 model
____________
Symptoms

Can make and receive calls and texts

Can access email /internet WITH WIFI ONLY

CANNOTaccess internet/email on networks

CANNOT send pictures via text mms

( when I try to send pictures via text, phone shows the following error message "No network connection. No signal for mobile networks")

Get "no root access" message when trying to launch ES file explorer, No frills CPU controler, Titanium Backup and other apps that need root access.

When I try to get into mobile network settings, I get "insert sim card" and "insert sim card to access network services"

I'd like to get internet when I am out and about, and I'd like to be able to send pics via text messenger, and get root access.

Any diagnosis?

Thanks!

Pm.

as far as network problems go sounds like your apn isnt correctly set or not set at all...i flashed an att gs3 as well and i initially had problems because of another apn being on phone...had to delete the apn and was allgood after that.

as far as super user(root access) try updating it by either going into whatever super su app you have or if you dont go to play store and install and update said super user app

Have you rooted in the past do u have any knowledge of rooting and flashing android devices. If not you may want to do a unroot and return to stock firmware . and just do some research before you do some serious damage to your device . cause we are not here to take the blame for any lawsuits for your MISTAKE .:what::mad::banghead: radio is also known as the ril . this is the parts that control the APN and the Modem . that's all I will go into detail with.

Start you down the correct path cause I had to learn the same way . but to help you out from under the rock try to look at these .

Q:*What is a modem, anyway?
A: The modem is the chip inside your phone that controls the connection to the cellular towers. This is a collection of different firmware versions for that chip.

Q:*Firmware

Now you ask the one big question why I say that was the problem. OK my answer is that you flashed a custom rom .the cyanogenmod is a custom firmware cm11 . this custom is all upgrades to your device . if your device worked before these upgrades the problem is that everything is still in the upgrade you flashed now if you flashed your backup you was told to make this will somewhat solve your problem . just check these out and feel free to ask any questions and be careful.
