AT&T non-smartphone

I am planning to get a unlocked Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro, which I've heard is not considered a smartphone. I want to know if this phone requires a AT&T data plan or not.

It isn't considered a smartphone here in Canada. I didn't need a data plan for mine. I'm guessing it's probably the same everywhere.

I have asked AT&T but I've been getting mixed answers, some said yes, some said no, and one said she's not sure.. Can someone help me and tell me for certain if the Vivaz Pro will require an AT&T data plan or not??

I believe it will seeing as they sold the Vivaz and it was only available under a smartphone plan
