AT&T says T-Mobile can keep pricing !!!

Not like they really have a choice.

I used to work for AT&T Wireless AND T-Mobile in the past.

I was there for the Cingular Merger and switch-back to AT&T.

1. The merger is not approved yet. Sprint is fighting it and it will be a bit of a battle.
2. If everything was peachy right now, it will take a couple years to get it all integrated.
3. Once things get really shaken up and merged, THEN pricing plans will change and T-Mo users will get migrated over to AT&T plans.

Right now, AT&T has no choice to let T-Mo keep their plans, they have no way of changing it now short of telling every T-Mo customer that they have to switch now or lose service.

I'd be shocked if this all happened inside of 2-3 years. I have working on the POS and Billing systems of both companies, WAY different and going to be a HUGE undertaking to get them all merged and worked out. :)

I think this will take less than the 12 months

The reason for my time frame is that it will take over a year before approvals and everything goes through. Then, it'll take about a year to get everything structured, people laid off and all that. THEN, you have to work on migration of the systems/customers, billing systems and all that... all in all, a headache.. I have works on several mergers and it takes a lot of time.

Well for one its an acquisition not a merger. Secondly I believe all that is in place for when approval arrives. The only work that will be done after is the adding of frequencies to the towers.
