AT&T Scam?

Okay guys, I know that my title sounds pretty harsh, but I don't know of any other way that this could have happened. I have a Galaxy S7 active, my mom has an Iphone 6s and my grandmother has an Iphone 6s plus. I use the most data on a monthly basis by far, but this month was very odd. According to AT&T's records, at 12:30am all three of our phones used more data than we usually use in a month. My phone used 9.9GB of data at one time. My usage manager on my phone says that I have used 3.4GB for that period. My mom's phone used almost 2GB at the exact same time. My grandmother's phone used 100 MB at the exact same time (and she has NEVER used more than 100MB a month because she is afraid of "using up all the data") So of course we call customer support and they immediately tell us that there is nothing that they can do about it and that we need the new unlimited plan because "it better suits our needs". We have never gone over and usually carry somewhere around 5GB rollover. So this is sounding fishy to me. I mention it to my girlfriend and it turns out that it happened to her family too just at a different day an time but in the same billing cycle. So be warned to keep a careful eye on your AT&T bill as they are pushing their shiny new unlimited plan. If it can happen to us it can happen to anyone. I just have to ask. Is there any way that this could have possibly happened that wasn't the result of AT&T funny business. I just don't see how I could use 10GB of data without realizing it at ONE time let alone how I could do that at the exact same minute that everyone else's data on our plan spiked.

what is reporting this high usage? take a pic or print it out for evidence...

take a pic / print out your phone's data usage as evidence..

go to ATT store and get them to explain ...
if not.. then tell them you will go to the Better Business Bureau and file a complaint....

Can you go into your Mobile Data under settings and look for something called Data usage ranking or something similar. This will tell you which apps used how much data. I could have been an app that went rogue.

When I had AT&T I constantly had similar issue with over billing. I hate them for that. But call to AT&T customer support always fixed it. You might want to contact them with complain that they doesn't calculate your data correctly. If they doesn't agree - ask them how you can verify.
