Root [AT&T] Simple, quick question!!

This has probably been asked a million times so I am sorry ahead of time!! I think I know the answer, but before I go all in I want to make make sure I am right!!

Can you activate an At&t GS4 with a bad esn on straight talk??

Here are my thoughts:

Straight talk is not part of at&t at all!! And at&t and straight talk are gsm!! They uses a sims card for validation!! The esn therefore should only be blacklisted on at&t!! And should be acivatable on straight talk!! We will see, I well report back!! Under my understanding bad esn phones only are affected by cdma networks and not such networks as gsm!! Because cdma uses the esn for validation and gsm uses the sims card for validation!!

Any user out their, to confirm this???
