Lurker
as of right now i am running android 4.1.2 i tried to follow a instruction on droidviews but it was no use i just did a RUU to get stock android back and apparently there is no OTA update :( any help?

Welcome to the forum :)

What country are you in and did you buy your phone through a carrier? This matters because if the carrier has modified the software in any way then the updates come when they release them, not HTC.

Hmm, I'm pretty sure ATT have later software than that. Hopefully someone from that side of the pond will have some suggestions.

In case it helps us, which RUU did you use (full detail would be great)?

Ah, I personally hate "how to" videos - I'd much rather read a few lines of instructions than sit through a video (which isn't always convenient). Plus videos are rarely updated. But that's just me ;)

One possible solution is to just directly use a more recent RUU to do the update (that one is actually rather old). For example, RUU_M7_UL_K44_SENSE55_MR_Cingular_US_4.18.502.7_R10_Radio_4T.24.3218.09_10.26.1718.01L_release_356565_signed_2.exe from AndroidRUU | The #1 source for Android RUU files should take you directly to the latest software (or very close to).

While the 4.x.502.x RUU is a Great Idea, its proven to be problematic for most users. you can do one of 2 things. Flash the 4.x firmware and then the 4.x RUU
or just flash the known good 3.x RUU and take the 2 OTA updates

the 4.x firmware is here >> https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23329332407580581

or the 3.x RUU here >> http://dl3.htc.com/application/RUU_...13_10.38j.1157.04_release_334235_signed_2.exe
