aTAKEphONE released

Okay I would just like to add the following.

I'm really enjoying this app, however I find one thing happening all the time which I find annoying. For some reason, and I'm sure it's down to me, I find that I open the app and I'm left with the screen showing as it was. I know common sense would say that's what you should want, but I am having to press the 'BkSp' button all too often to view my i-bar. I really can't quite put my finger on why this is the case, and I would defintaely say it's just how I'm using the app. However, if it were possible to have a choice on how the app behaived on open (either revert to last call and I-bar display - or as was prior to exit). At least I would then be able to decide what was better for me.

Am I alone on this, or is there another user how understands what I am saying.

Is it possible? Is it easy to do? Or I suppose the main quuestion is, Is it neccasary?

How about a P (2 second pause) and W (Wait for input) on the dial screen? I'm really amazed that I'm not seeing those features on any dialer app.

Hi,

Tap & HOLD the # button, and you get a 'p'.

You can change in settings->"Find/Dial tab" it to enter 'w' or ask you each time.

Hi,

The way Android is built, there's a difference in how you exit the app - if you exit using BACK, then the app is terminated, thus will start with a clean start next time.

If you exit cause of another app is launched (i.e. you pressed HOME button), the the app is 'paused' thus stays in the same screen.

Logical ?

Huh. Nice tip. I got in the habit of hitting the back button instead of home when I first got my droid so I never noticed that. Thanks for the tip. Sometimes I would like to just pause the app I am in.

Hi,

I just got this app and so far I love it. I was wondering how most of you access it. Ideally, is there a way to hit the 'phone' tab at the bottom of the main home screen and just have TAKEPHONE open up instead of the htc keypad? Thanks!

As someone else had asked, where do I buy? I can see it on The Android Market and also through Mobihand via your website. Does it matter where I get it? Also, I am buying two copies, one for me and one for the wife, does this make a difference? I love the app and after showing to the wife, I think it fits what she had been looking for too.

Let me know where I should buy, and thanks for a great app!

I've got the phone button in the scrolling dock bar in LauncherPro... very streamlined! Love it!

Hi,

Afraid the PHONE button is hard coded to launch the built-in PHONE app.

Well - you could purchase at either place, but if you'd like to help me a bit more - purchasing at the Market and leaving a good review would certainly help...

Thanks !

Bummer, was hoping for an i-bar widget with this release. Still, I love that landscape mode. Nice update.
I bought mine from Mobihand because it wasn't in the Market yet when I got it and the problem with that is that now I have to go through Mobihand to get the updates. It is a bit more cumbersome than having Market updates. You can't link it to the Market after the fact even though it is an honestly purchased app. Just something to think about when you decide how you want to purchase your app.

i-Bar widget will come, I promise.

Found a small bug..

If you have the settings set to use the "Backspace" above keypad.
AND set for searching to start only after 3 keys only..(or 2 keys)

You cannot press the backspace to correct a key until after the 3rd keypress and only the 3rd key and beyond :(

For example if I hit 3 instead of 6 by accident, I cannot correct the 3 without existing aTakephone completely.

This is because it seems the Ibar does not disappear after the first keypress (since search hasn't officially started) but it's over top of the backspace icon.

My suggestion is to perhaps move the Ibar up just a bit or have it disappear upon first keypress, and not 'search start'.

I only noticed this because I had to change the search behavior from 1 to 3 keypreses due to the size of my contact list.. it was freezing for a second or so between each keypress.

Landscape mode is really nice when I have my phone in its dock and am using my bluetooth. However, once the call has been initiated, the phone goes back into portrait mode which is a bit of a problem if I am dealing with a voice response unit. Shouldn't that virtual keypad stay put in landscape?
Oh, and I love the increased size of the i-bar when I open the physical keyboard in landscape.

Good catch,
Will fix this somehow asap.

Thanks.

Hi,

Afraid I can't control the dialer screen - it's the built-in app.

Thanks.

Just finally purchased a license to aTakephONE and I have to say, I love it! I was using Dialer One for a while, but the contact bar really sold me. What a great dialer app. Keep up the good work!

Okay - I feel like an idiot for posting this - but I cannot find:

aTAKEphONE
TAKEphONE
takephone
atakephone

in the Adriod market.

What are you listed under so I can find you in the android market?
