Atnt refuses to unlock fusion 2

I would be so much happier on T-Mobile but they say
That fusion 2 is atnt only but when I put T-Mobile similar it asks for code just some more bull from atnt why is it still illegal to unlock share you're opinions

Without the 1700 MHz band you wouldn't get 3G on AT&T. So they are kind of right that it's an AT&T only phone. At least if you want full network access.

And yes the cellphone unlocking law is a bunch of BS.

Yeah I know right, well I just wanna get 2g on the phone but then again Netflix wont even let you on a 2g network even though clearly I've done it tethering and it worked just fine, so does Skype on the go T-Mobile 2g isn't bad at all :)

AT&T phones *will* work on T-Mobile. How well an AT&T phone works on T-Mobile depends on the data frequencies it is capable of using and your location. It gets kinda confusing, but basically...

If you have a 1900 data band-capable phone *and* are in an area T-Mobile has 'refarmed' for the 1900 band, (most places are now) you are good to go on HSPA+ 4G. 1900 is found on AT&T phones and unlocked international models.

If you are *not* in a 'refarmed' for 1900 area, you need a phone with both 1700 *and* 2100 band capabilities. One frequency is used for upload, one for download. This is the 'default' nationwide T-Mobile data bands and are found, with a few exceptions such as the Nexus 4, mostly only on T-Mobile phones.

Therefore, if your phone does not have both the 1700 and 2100 data bands, on T-Mobile it would be limited to Edge (2G) speed in non-refarmed for 1900 areas.

What reason does AT&T give for refusing to unlock the phone?

1900 is the most commonly used band for data worldwide and found on AT&T phones and all unlocked international models.
You sure? It's widely used in the Americas, but I don't think you'll find it much elsewhere - I've read that there's some 2G 1900 in Thailand, but there's no UMTS 1900 that I'm aware of anywhere in Europe or Asia.

It is on international models for compatibility when visiting the Americas.

I realise that this is off topic.

BTW, I thought that unlocking yourself was only illegal for phones bought after a certain date a few months back.

You're right. I knew what I meant to say but it came out wrong when I typed it. Edited for accuracy.

They say atnt fusion 2 is only for atnt and they don't have the codes yet it asks for a code when you put a T-Mobile sim in there just bsing me cause they know they can get away with it now :/

At any rate I hope that atnt comes into the future and stops there outrageous plans I use a phone to play games and go online only so why can't I just get a data plan without talk time lol

it's coming. verizon's working on VoLTE, and i'm going to assume that everyone else probably is, too. customers have finally realized that "hey, voice and texts can be transmitted over data connections, why the hell am i paying for a voice connection?"

not that it'll help me (yet) i'm grandfathered into an unlimited plan, and i'm not about to sign another contract and screw with that!

Anyone that thinks Verizon will sell VoLTE any cheaper than voice + data is delusional.

They will to make a market tho why else would you get off your plan if its more expensive that's why prepaid is thriving for it's so cheap?

And zerosedev actually can tell you how to make the phone work with T-Mobile for problem is no one is enforcing the law so its relatively useless

I ran into almost the same thing with my Fusion 2 phone. I called AT&T to have the phone unlocked and after two days I called back and they actually gave me a code. The code didn't work. I called back and after 30 minutes they said they would have to submit the request to level 2 support. Two days later I called back and the individual said they were waiting on the manufacturer. Two days later I called back and the woman told me the phone could not be unlocked. Total BS. I think I'm going to call back again just to see what excuse they come up with next. Piss on AT&T!!!

I would really like to have T-Mobile on the phone; their pre-paid charges are cheaper than AT&T's.

Hey, sorry. I'm slacking. Haha, didn't see this post. Here is a post I made earlier about unlocking my phone so I can use T-mobile. I've done this on two Fusion 2's. Mine, and my brothers.

Hello,

This is a guide to unlock the Fusion 2. I searched for about a week for a free way to preform a carrier unlock because I wanted to use T-Mobile with the Fusion 2. I was not able to find a free method, and ended up paying $20 to unlock mine.

I watched this Youtube video:How to unlock At&t Huawei Fusion 2 U8665 - YouTube

Then followed the link they provided in the description: Unlock At&t Huawei Fusion 2 U8665

How it works is you give them your IMEI and other information, pay them and you receive a confirmation e-mail for your purchase. 2-3 days later you receive an e-mail with the Unlock code, and instructions.

Worked like a charm for me.

**I have no association with the company, it's just how I did a carrier unlock for my phone.

Hope it helps you out.

This is a good idea cause if something happens it's the other persons fault lol

My districts a little antsy about laws there's alot of crime here I think ill just keep tethering off my old T-Mobile till this dumb law is over hope this helped others though

can i unlock it for free

All I did was call my carrier and explained I was going out of the country and the customer service rep gave me the unlock code with no questions asked. It took all of 2 mins to do! Please don't pay the idiots that want to charge you for the unlock code when you can do it with a simple phone call! :D

I failed to unlock my phone now the box doesnt come up anymore. Any idea how to make it come up so I can enter my code?

When I put in a foreign Sim card, like T-Mobile, then rebooted the phone, it would prompt me for the unlock code.

Hope this helps.
