Help Atrix 2 Custom Ring Tone appear and later disapper

I'm frustrated with this new JB upgrade in that my Custom ringtones disappered. After wrestling with the phone dismounting/mounting the SD card. The ringtones appeared only to go away the next day. By go away I mean they cannot be selected. I have a ringtone folder and a notification folder on the SD card and the rintones are in each. But when the appear in the selection I set one of my custom as a default ringtone and a few contacts have their special ringtone. The next day the are gone. Wish I never did this upgrade. Any advice would be greatly appreciated
