Help Atrix is acting up

Hi all,

My Atrix 4G has been acting up lately, lagging, locking up shutting down....

I have never done a hard reset with it, is it time to ..."Start over" and reset and reload everything?

I have heard that this will work wonders with a fritzy phone. Any feedback?

Otherwise still love the Atrix and for the MOST part it's still working well.

Thanks for any ideas.
 
The best would be to uninstall any new applications you may have installed.
Maybe even do a reset.

My Atrix has been doing this for a while too.

Mine was doing the same recently. I had been running ADWLauncher EX since I got the phone the day it was released. However recently I uninstalled the launcher and have been using the stock gingerbread and most of the problems seem to have been resolved. Just an idea if you're running a launcher over the stock home screen.
 
Are you running a stock atrix? Or have you rooted and/or ROM'ed? I have never had a problem with it lagging or anything like that. It is rock solid. Then again, I'm running CM7 on mine.
 
I would do all the above suggestions first, before doing a factory reset. How much RAM is available when its running slow? Sometimes when the RAM, memory, gets really low, it will start to lag, freeze or shut down. (Just like a windows PC). My phone starts to lag when the RAM is around 100 to 150 MB. Also, clear all the cache's from the web browser, etc.

It's totally stock, unrooted and I am running launcherPro (free version) - I am cheap! :D

I will try all that out.
kill the launcher
check the RAM
clear the cache
and if all else fails, hard reset.

1) I would say to unintall it. You could just end it using the stock apps manager.

2) From the home screen press menu> settings> applications> running applications. The number, in the lower right hand corner, tells your available RAM/Memory.
 
BTW
all cache was cleared regularly and I found no secret stashes of cache ... no apps were burning memory so I uninstalled launcherpro and we will see what happens.
 
So this may seem crazy but I read some stuff on here about not having a screen protecter on so I removed mine and it has never worked better. Its been 2 days and so far so good.
