I figured, since there's already an Atrix vs Inspire thread going on here, we may as well get an Atrix vs Infuse thread going too.
Honestly, I want to get all excited about the Atrix, but there are a couple of issues that are holding me back:
Moto's are notoriously difficult to root, unlock, mod, whatever. Frankly, I want to get the phone, and on the FIRST DAY, I want every trace of AT&T crap-ware OFF the thing, and I want to be able to customize it to my needs exactly as I see fit. I mean, isn't that what Android is supposed to be all about; Customizability? If you don't like something, change it! If you want something, get it! If you don't want something, get rid of it! I'm spending the money for a high-end device, so why shouldn't I be able to do all those things out-of-the-box, right?
Also, speaking of modding and rooting etc, considering how similar the Nexus S is to the current Samsung hardware out in the wild at the moment, and how similar the Infuse's hardware will likely also be to the Nexus S, I suspect the Infuse will be a modder's playground.
On the other hand, DesignGears (responsible for the Cognition and Perception ROM's on the Captivate) has made it known that he plans on getting both devices. So who knows? Maybe the Atrix will have hope yet... I can see it now: the dev's over at XDA figure out a way to replace webtop on the Atrix with a full blown version Ubuntu. Now THAT would be cool!
Idk, I'm still torn...
If the Infuse has an HDMI port, and especially for the customizability reasons I already mentioned, I might just go with that and let the dual core phones mature for a generation or two. We'll see...
Ahh, Decisions decisions...
Each phone is very different on paper, but both are very nice devices. This is not a discussion about which phone is technically superior, because we all know the tech specs already. This is a discussion about which phone YOU think is better for YOU!
Let's hear your opinion! Which phone do you want to get? Why? Why not the other?
